When searching for a creative night out online, you’ll stumble upon countless terms: Sip & Paint, Drink and Paint, Wine and Paint, or the classic Painting and Drinking. Sometimes you read about Sip n Paint or Sip & Paint. But no matter the name – at heycreate in Zurich, we always mean the same thing: An incomparable happening where the line between bar culture and art studio blurs.
It’s so much more than just a standard painting course or a stiff art workshop in a boring studio. It’s about breaking the idea that art only happens in galleries. We bring the paint event to where life happens – the bars and restaurants of the city. Because let’s be honest: in an inspiring location with great music and amazing people, the painting almost does itself.
The Cocktail as a Canvas in a Glass
Have you ever watched a professional bartender create a drink? It’s actually just like a painting workshop. A cocktail – with or without alcohol – is a liquid work of art. It starts with a vision and various ingredients that act like shades on a palette.
There’s the deep ruby red of Campari, the bright yellow of fresh lemon juice, or the rich green of mint. When these components meet in the shaker and blend in the glass, gradients are created that resemble the layered painting techniques of the old masters. A "sip" isn’t just a refreshment; it’s the perfect mood-setter for what you’re about to put on canvas. The synergy between mixing colors and mixing flavors is what makes our painting events so special. It’s about the senses – seeing, tasting, and creating.

Just like the classic cocktail "Tequila Sunrise", our "Lost in Japan" workshop blends vibrant yellow and deep red into a perfect sunset. As the layers flow gently into one another in your glass, you will use your brush to create the same magical gradient on your canvas.

At heycreate, "Create" doesn't just stand for the painting itself. We create moments. A Sip & Paint evening is the perfect opportunity to truly unwind and laugh with your best friends. As you sip your drink and set your brushstrokes, the stress of everyday life simply fades away.
It’s all about the shared experience within the Zurich community. We believe that creativity flows best when it’s shared. In our partner bars, we create an atmosphere that is miles away from the "classroom feel" of a typical painting course. Here, you’re encouraged to clink glasses and have a good chat.

The vibrant, bold oranges and the tactile texture of our "Orange Tree" painting find their sparkling counterpart in the Orange Mimosa. Just like the textures on the canvas, a lively surface is created in the glass that invites you to enjoy – a true feast for the senses.
